From 2002 to 2003: Volunteer Physician at the Urology Clinic of the University of Florence – Careggi Hospital (Tutor: Prof. M. Rizzo), where he performed clinical, outpatient, and surgical assistance activities.
2001: Clinical Research Fellow at King’s College Hospital in London, participating in research on the pathogenesis of testicular cancer; delivering lectures and seminars in urology to students and trainees; and invited to present on penile surgery at the Royal Society of Medicine. During this period, he performed numerous endoscopic surgical procedures as the lead surgeon and completed laparoscopic training* on simulators and live pigs, including training at the University of Aalborg (Denmark).
*Laparoscopic training: 2 cholecystectomies, 5 nephrectomies, 2 heminephrectomies, and 1 prostatectomy on pigs (Aalborg – Denmark). Completed 1 basic course and 2 advanced courses at King’s College and East Surrey Hospital in London.
From 1996 to 2001: Urology Resident at the Urology Clinic, University of Florence.
From 1997 to 1998: Medical Officer at the Military District and the Military Hospital of Florence, serving as Uro-Andrologist for the Selection Group. During this year, he conducted significant epidemiological studies on a sample of 18,000 young conscripts, which became the subject of publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
From 1996 to 1997: Six-month post-graduate internship at Careggi Hospital: general surgery, internal medicine, laboratory medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology. At Meyer Pediatric Hospital: pediatrics (pediatric urogenital surgery).
