Robotic system for aquablation of prostate

Iperplasia prostatica benigna, IPB o BPH

The AquaBeam system is a robotic system that uses water to perform an aquablation of the prostate. The entire procedure is carried out under cystoscopic and ultrasound guidance with the integration of the two images. In this way, AquaBeam allows for a controlled resection of the prostate, meaning that beforehand it is decided which parts of the prostate to remove with a high-speed saline solution jet. This way, it is possible to preserve the area responsible for ejaculation, maintaining it intact.

The procedure lasts from 1 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the prostate. Once the surgery is performed, a special catheter is placed for bleeding management, which is usually kept in place for 48 hours, after which the patient is discharged.

The procedure requires general anesthesia to prevent any movement by the patient during the procedure.
